LOOONG long awaited update!

Velvet Elvis has been a busy little velvet and almost entirely forgot she had a blog!
While I've been away I've been making lots of new creations and mini collections, having lots of fun working with new people and making lots of commisions for my faithful yet stupendous customers!

Very excited about my first Granny Would Be Proud fair in Glasgow this Sunday the 8th, at Hillhead Bookclub, promises to be packed with goodies!
Also keep y0ur eyes peeled for the issue of Triscicle, coming out on the 30th of May, have a look for my stuffs!
V.E.

In November last year, I did my very first fair at Dolly Tartan presents...Ooh La La.
What a fantastic host and compere and all round good egg this girl is! Velvet Elvis went down a storm, with lots of new V.E. friends at the end of the day!
The vintage and craft fair raises money for a different charity at each event, and always a local and worthy cause. Held at the Ghillie Dhu in Edinburgh its a classy affair with three fashion shows throughout the afternoon with a burlesque treat. Please do come!
And yes that is my ungainly self attempting an ill fated catwalk strut whilst trying not to fall of a stage...

Still waiting on photos from the March Ooh La La,I'm desperate to see the pics of a quite "energetic" 6 year old that had decided the stage was there specifically for him to model one of my leopard print hoodies, pretty sure his mother know realises her son is gay if she hadn't before..
Oh and here's me and my helper making plastic jesus and plastic buddha and minnie mouse have a snog....
Some more beautiful photographs of the lovely Miss Gamma Ray Dali wearing V.E. (styled & M.U. herself) with thanks to the very talented Dom Bower

I was commisioned by Creative Electric, a youth theatre company, to style and provide clothing, including some kitsch custom t shirts, for a brilliant production they had last year called Petrol Bomb Candy, her's a few snaps of the talented little thespians...

Oh have a gander's at some of my peices that have been used in promotional posters and club flyers...

The JFK BIG SLEEP/HEATHERS collection was also used in another Confusion Is Sex fashion show.
Here's a few backstage pics!

Last year I designed a mini capsule collection for my first styling job with award winning JFK hairdressers.
Very Big Sleep meets Heathers: lots of bold colourful tartans; 1940's structuring and silhouette; with a heck of a lot of 1980's sass. I hope to one day eventually get the rest of the photographs back!

Thanks for reading
